Gravel Driveway Installation with Geogrid in St. Pete

Most gravel driveways fail from the bottom up. Gravel shifts, sinks, and spreads because there's nothing underneath holding it in place. Over time you end up with thin spots, ruts, and a surface that looks worn out way too fast. That's the problem we set out to solve on this St. Pete job.

Here's what we were working with - an existing driveway area that had seen better days. Patchy gravel, weeds pushing through, and ground that just wasn't stable enough to hold a proper surface long-term. Before we laid a single piece of new gravel, we stripped things down and regraded the base. Getting the ground right first is what separates a driveway that lasts from one that needs to be redone in a few years.

Once the grading was done, we installed geogrid across the entire surface area. Geogrid is a structural material that locks the gravel in place from below. It distributes weight, resists shifting, and keeps the surface tight even under regular vehicle traffic. It's not something you can see once the job is finished - but it's the whole reason the driveway holds up the way it does.

With the geogrid pinned down and the base solid, we topped everything with fresh white gravel spread clean and even across the full footprint. The result is a driveway that looks sharp and - more importantly - is built to handle daily use without constantly needing to be topped off or regraded. That combination of proper grading, geogrid stabilization, and quality gravel is exactly how we approach this kind of work.
